NEW TO CHURCH?
Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life - we hope this website helps you find out what you want to know about Hope Church Sutton.
Key info about the church...
When & where does the church meet?
The church meets every Sunday for two services at Christ Church Sutton:
2:30pm (Adult Service)
4pm (All-Age Service)
They will last around an hour each. It helps to get there 10 minutes early to get a parking spot and seat in time for the service to start. There is on street parking which is free on Sundays and a small onsite car park which takes around 10-15 cars. By public transport you can take several different buses or it's a ten minute walk from Sutton mainline train station. There is a ramp for disabled access to the building and an onsite garden.
What should I expect when I visit the church?
You can expect a warm welcome, music, a clear and relevant talk from the Bible and a friendly bunch of people gathering to learn more about God and to encourage each other.
The door to enter will be marked by our flags and a steward. Upon entry there will be hand sanitising and a one way system. You will also be asked to write down your name and email for track and trace reasons (details will be deleted after three weeks). You will be shown to somewhere to sit. They have pews installed and marked so that we shall sit in every other pew and with marked distances from those on the same pews.
Note - you will need to wear a mask (although children under the age of 11 are explicitly not required to wear them) and it would be great if you could bring a Bible (if you don't have one, you can download the Bible App on your phone).
What happens to the kids at church?
Our All-Age Service at 4pm will be suitable for children and we will provide them with activities and resources to stay engaged through the afternoon. We want to encourage you to join us and not worry when your child makes noise and gets restless! There will be an overflow room for those who really need a temporary timeout, however we really do want to make these services accessible to all ages (including adults!) and so want to encourage you to persist with children sitting through the whole service.
If your children are happy to sit through an adult service with no additional resources then you are welcome to attend either service.
Is there a dress code?
No! Please come in whatever makes you comfortable.
Sunday Service Livestream
For those who are sheltering at home and for people away on holiday, we will do our best to livestream the 2.30pm adult service both on the Services Livestream page on our website and on YouTube. However, this is technically challenging and may take a few weeks for us to get right. At the minimum, we shall endeavour to upload it to our YouTube channel to be able to watch that evening.
If you would like to be personally contacted to be kept up to date about when this will be available, please let us know. Otherwise, check the page or YouTube channel from 2.30pm:
I have more questions, how can I get in touch and ask them?
Please feel free to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions you have and we will be happy to help you. Or fill in the form below...
